Not open yet

Subscriptions are not yet open. The Inner Circle will open only after TSP’s legal identity, the recipient of funds, these terms and the applicable UK political-finance and payment-provider checks have been confirmed. Until then, no payment can be taken and no account is given Inner Circle access.

Section 01

The Inner Circle

The Inner Circle is TSP’s paid membership: a monthly subscription for people who want full access to TSP’s essays and reports, to take part in the members’ community, and to support the campaign for a nationwide referendum on a codified constitution.

These membership terms form a contract between you and Legal entity name (to be confirmed) (‘TSP’, ‘we’, ‘us’), Legal form, registration number and registered address (to be confirmed). They apply together with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Please read them before you join; you will be asked to confirm that you accept them before you pay.

Membership does not guarantee any political outcome. Membership does / does not (to be confirmed) give you any right to vote on, or take part in, how TSP is governed.

Subscriptions are not yet open. No payment can be taken, and no member accounts are given Inner Circle access, until TSP’s legal identity, the recipient of funds, these terms and the required checks are confirmed.

Section 02

Who can join

To join the Inner Circle you must:

  • be at least Minimum age (to be confirmed);
  • meet Eligibility requirements, e.g. UK residence or electoral-register status (to be confirmed); and
  • Confirm: pay for your own membership, from a card or account in your own name (to be confirmed).

We may ask for information to check that you are eligible. We may decline an application, and will refund any payment in full, if you are not eligible or if we cannot lawfully accept your payment.

Depending on TSP’s legal status, UK political-finance law, including the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (PPERA), may treat membership fees as donations. If so, TSP may need to check that payments come from permissible sources (for example, individuals on a UK electoral register), keep records, and report payments above certain thresholds to the Electoral Commission. Because the subscription is monthly, confirm how payments from the same member are aggregated for any threshold.

Which rules apply depends on whether TSP is, or becomes, a registered political party, a registered non-party campaigner, a referendum campaigner or none of these. Confirm the position, the eligibility requirements above and any checks needed before subscriptions open.

Section 03

Price and what is included

The Inner Circle costs £5 per month, a flat-rate fee charged monthly in advance in pounds sterling (GBP). The price you pay is the price shown at checkout. Confirm VAT treatment and how it is shown (to be confirmed)

No added fees. TSP absorbs the card-processing fees charged by our payment provider. We do not add any surcharge, booking fee or processing fee to the £5.

While your subscription is active, it includes:

  • full, unrestricted access to all of TSP’s academic essays and reports published on the website;
  • access to the Inner Circle community section, subject to the Community guidelines (to be published) (to be confirmed); and
  • a unique membership number, issued once your first payment has been confirmed.

Planned features are not part of the contract until they launch. TSP is building further features for the Inner Circle, such as a video forum. They are not included in your subscription, and you are not paying for them, until they have launched and been added to this page.

Confirm how access is described (as digital content, a service or both), since this affects consumer rights, the cancellation right and what TSP must tell members before they pay. Confirm also how changes to the essay archive (for example, an essay corrected or withdrawn) and to community features are handled, and what notice members receive.

Section 04

The Inner Circle community

The community section lets members post, discuss constitutional issues and take part in the movement. When you post, other members can see what you write and the display name on your profile.

  • You must follow the Community guidelines (to be published) (to be confirmed).
  • We may remove posts, or suspend your access to the community, if you break them (see ‘Ending or suspending membership’).
  • You keep ownership of what you post. You give TSP permission to display it to members Scope of licence for member posts (to be confirmed).

Legal reviewNeeds adviser sign-off

A members’ community where users can post content that other users see may be a ‘user-to-user service’ under the Online Safety Act 2023. Confirm whether the Act applies, and if so the risk assessments, reporting and complaints tools, and terms-of-service wording it requires. Confirm the moderation approach, the licence needed for member posts and how posts are handled when a member leaves.

Section 05

How payment works

Payments are processed by Stripe through Stripe Checkout, a secure payment page hosted by Stripe. You enter your card details directly with Stripe; they are never sent to or stored by TSP. Accepted payment methods: Accepted payment methods (to be confirmed).

Your first payment is taken when you join. After that, £5 is taken once a month on Billing date, e.g. the same day each month as your first payment (to be confirmed) until you cancel.

Your membership starts only once Stripe has confirmed your first payment to us. When it does, your member account is created and your access to the essay archive and the community is switched on automatically, and we send you a welcome email. If you see a confirmation page before then, your membership will show as pending until confirmation arrives. If the payment fails, no membership is created. The contract between you and TSP is made Point at which the contract is made, e.g. when Stripe confirms your first payment (to be confirmed).

For each payment, we will send a receipt to the email address you gave at checkout Receipt method: Stripe receipt or TSP email (to be confirmed). Your receipts will also be listed in your member account.

Section 06

Membership numbers

  • Each member receives a unique membership number.
  • Numbers are allocated automatically by our systems, and only after Stripe has confirmed your first payment. A pending or failed payment does not receive a number.
  • Your membership number is personal to you and cannot be transferred to anyone else.
  • Please quote your membership number when you contact us about your membership.

A membership number identifies your membership record. It is not a payment card, a share or a financial instrument, and it has no monetary value.

Section 07

Monthly renewal

The Inner Circle is a rolling monthly subscription. It renews automatically each month, and £5 is taken on each renewal date, until you cancel. We will:

  • tell you clearly, before you pay, that your subscription renews every month until you cancel, and at what price;
  • send you Renewal reminders: whether, when and how often reminders are sent (to be confirmed); and
  • let you cancel at any time before your next renewal date, by Method for cancelling, e.g. account settings or email (to be confirmed).

If a monthly payment fails, What happens: retry schedule, grace period and when access is paused (to be confirmed). We will tell you by email and give you a chance to update your payment details before your access ends.

Legal reviewNeeds adviser sign-off

Confirm whether the subscription contract rules in the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 apply once in force. For a monthly subscription they may require specific pre-contract information, regular reminder notices, a cooling-off period for the first contract and for renewals, and a way to cancel that is straightforward, for example online in the same way the member joined. Confirm the reminder schedule and the Stripe Billing configuration (renewals, failed-payment retries and cancellation) needed to comply.

Section 08

Cancelling your membership

Your 14-day right to cancel

If you join as a consumer, you can cancel your membership within 14 days without giving a reason. The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day the contract is made (see ‘How payment works’).

To cancel, tell us clearly before the period ends, by emailing enquiries@tspmedia.org.uk with your name, the email address you used and your membership number, or by using the model cancellation form Link to model cancellation form (to be confirmed).

If you cancel within this period, we will refund Refund amount: the full first payment, or less a proportionate deduction for access used during the cancellation period at your request (to be confirmed) within 14 days of the day you tell us, using the payment method you used.

Legal reviewNeeds adviser sign-off

Confirm whether and how the 14-day cancellation right for distance contracts under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 applies to Inner Circle membership. This includes whether TSP acts as a ‘trader’ for these purposes; whether instant access to the essay archive is digital content (where the right can be lost if the member expressly agrees to immediate access and acknowledges this); whether any deduction can be made; and what pre-contract information and model cancellation form must be provided. TSP may choose to offer a 14-day cancellation right even if it is not legally required.

Cancelling at any time

You can cancel your subscription at any time by emailing enquiries@tspmedia.org.uk Other cancellation method, e.g. account settings (to be confirmed). Cancelling stops all future monthly payments. Confirm: your access continues until the end of the month you have already paid for (to be confirmed). Refunds after the 14-day period are covered under ‘Refunds’.

Section 09

Refunds

  • Within the 14-day cancellation period: as set out in ‘Cancelling your membership’.
  • After the 14-day cancellation period: Refund policy after 14 days, e.g. no refund for part of a month already paid (to be confirmed).
  • Payments taken in error: if you are charged twice, charged the wrong amount or charged after you cancelled, we will refund the incorrect amount in full.
  • Payments we cannot accept: if the law does not allow us to accept your payment, we will refund it in full, and your membership will not start or will end.

Refunds are made to the original payment method through Stripe. Once we have issued a refund, it may take Typical refund processing time (to be confirmed) to reach your account, depending on your card issuer.

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Section 10

Ending or suspending membership

We may suspend or end your membership, or your access to the community, only in the circumstances below Conditions for suspending or ending membership (proposed list to confirm) (to be confirmed):

  • you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, the community guidelines or our Terms of Use;
  • your payment fails and is not resolved, is reversed or is subject to a chargeback;
  • we are required to by law or by a regulator, including where we cannot lawfully accept your payment; or
  • TSP closes the Inner Circle or stops operating.

Unless the law or the circumstances prevent it, we will tell you by email before we suspend or end your membership, explain why and give you an opportunity to respond.

If we end your membership for a reason that is not your fault, we will stop taking payments and refund Refund on termination by TSP, e.g. a proportionate amount for the unused part of the month (to be confirmed). If TSP closes the Inner Circle, we will give you at least Notice period for closing the Inner Circle (to be confirmed) notice.

Section 11

Changes to the price or these terms

We may change the subscription price or these terms, for example to reflect changes in our costs, our services or the law.

  • A price change will not affect a month you have already paid for.
  • We will tell you about any price change at least Notice period for price changes (to be confirmed) before your first payment at the new price. If you do not want to continue at the new price, you can cancel before then.
  • We will tell you about significant changes to these terms by email before they take effect. If a change is to your disadvantage, you may cancel your membership Refund position if a member cancels because of a change to these terms (to be confirmed).

The current version of these terms will always be published on this page.

Section 12

Your data

We use your personal data to provide your membership and the community, as explained in our Privacy Policy. Because membership of a political movement, and what you post in its community, may reveal your political opinions, we treat information about your membership as special category data and protect it accordingly.

Card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored by TSP.

Section 13

Governing law and other terms

  • These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales (to be confirmed). If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and nothing in these terms removes the protection of the mandatory consumer law where you live.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
  • If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest will continue to apply.
  • No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.

Section 14
