The proposal in four parts

Before the full argument, the shape of what TSP is asking for.

  1. A nationwide referendum

The public, not the government of the day, decides whether the UK adopts a written constitution.

    How it would work
  2. A codified constitution

The rules of power written down in one document and placed above ordinary law.

    What that means
  3. Popular sovereignty

Authority that flows from the people: “where the power belongs to the people.”

    Accountability today
  4. Public servants, not overlords

Elected representatives bound by law: “legally accountable public servants.”

    Beyond party politics

01The Mission

We Aren’t “Restoring” Anything. We Are Building It for the First Time

What Are We Actually Building?

Let’s be entirely clear about the reality we face: we are building a true democracy for the first time.

For generations, the establishment has sold the public a comforting myth. They point to "parliamentary democracy" a system where democracy is strictly confined to the walls of Westminster and pretend it belongs to the nation as a whole. It is a complete illusion. The general public has never held sovereign power in this country. Under the doctrine of parliamentary supremacy, Westminster holds absolute, unchecked authority, treating the electorate like an inconvenience between elections while the political class runs the country as their personal estate.

That is not democracy. Legally and constitutionally, that is an elected dictatorship.

That is why what we are doing right now is necessary and foundational. By demanding a nationwide referendum for a codified constitution that establishes true popular sovereignty, we aren’t trying to turn back the clock or repair a broken machine. We are forging something the United Kingdom has never possessed in its entire history: a system where sovereign power actually belongs to the people, and where politicians are kept strictly to their constitutional function as public servants.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

If you truly and deeply love your partner, your children, your grandchildren, your great-grandchildren, if you care about the country that they will inherit, how can you afford not to stand for your family's future? This isn't about politics as usual. It is about protecting our families, our businesses, our jobs, and reclaiming our streets, reviving our dignity and pride, and standing tall on the international stage, so the world respects the United Kingdom once more. This is our one chance in generations to build a true democracy and put the political class permanently in their place. We cannot ignore it, and we cannot walk away.

Join the People’s Charter Movement. From all backgrounds, let's reclaim our nation. Let's make history together.
